FreeFlyer has steadily grown in industry usage since it’s initial release in 1997. Since then, it has been successfully used on over 50 NASA and US DOD projects, including an on-board version of the software flown on NASA’s EO-1 spacecraft which has autonomously controlled spacecraft maneuvers for formation flying with the Landsat-7 spacecraft. The core FreeFlyer product contains the analytical engine for calculating and displaying all orbit related data as well as a decision engine to optimise mission plans and automate routine operations. It's scripting language allows complex control laws to be implemented as well as user customisation of product features if desired.
